Because autism is an invisible disability, the public feels free to make any kind of unsolicited judgment they feel necessary. They would never say this stuff to a family with a child in a wheelchair.

I have read this book before and it is well worth thread, so I’ve decided to pick it up again as April is Autism Awareness Month. The author is now a friend of ours, a relationship that developed through shared experiences and understanding.
