Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here are my teasers for this week:
Once, in a bar, I asked an acquaintance about her coffee habit. She said coffee is not a big deal to her; she just takes two cups in the morning. So, I asked when was the last time she had gone without those two cups. She paused, thought for a minute, took a sip of her beer, and said, “I guess about thirty-five years.”
From page 32 of Caffeinated: How Our Daily Habit Helps, Hurts, and Hooks Us by Murray Carpenter. So I cheated and added a couple of extra sentences, but it helped to make the quote make more sense. Besides, I haven’t done a Teaser Tuesdays post for a couple of months, so I have some catching up to do 🙂
It hasn’t been thirty-five years for me (yet), but it has been quite a while!
