This week Booking Through Thursday shares the following:
My apologies for the lack of a question last week–blame Hurricane Sandy and the 5-day power outage that kept me from getting online.
But it leads to today’s question:
1. How do storms affect your reading? Do you go for comfort reading?
2. How do you deal with power outages? Do you read by candlelight? Flashlights? Use a self-lit e-reader or tablet? Skip reading altogether for the duration and instead play games with the family?
1. I’m always happy to be inside reading anything when there’s a storm going on outside. We light a fire, get out some warm blankets and wait out the storm, reading whatever is on the go at the time. The comfort comes from knowing I don’t have to go out and face the weather until it calms down.
2. We have loads of candles at hand if the power goes out and we also have the fireplace I mentioned in my previous answer. As well as the candles to read by, we have quite a number of mini reading lights. The LED ones are really great for reading. Sometimes we’ll play a game together – some favourites are Scrabble, Monopoly, or Creationary, but we all enjoy reading as well.
