Teaser Tuesdays – Willful Blindness (October 16)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here are my teasers for this week:

It’s easy, and perhaps comforting, to look at people like Pavlo or Ruderman, condemn them for their white-collar crimes, and imagine that they’re utterly different from us. But the powerful urge to belong, to which they succumbed, isn’t a criminal one but a human one.

From page 131 of Willful Blindness: Why We Ignore the Obvious at Our Peril by Margaret Heffernan. I bought this in the summer for my wife, but it looks as if I may be the one reading it first!
