FRIDAY FINDS… is where you share the book titles you discovered or heard about during the past week. These can be books you were told about, books you discovered while browsing blogs/bookstores online, or books that you actually purchased. This event is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
As usual MizB asks the question:
What great books did you hear about/discover this past week? Share with us your FRIDAY FINDS!
I didn’t post a Friday Finds post last week, so the following are books I acquired over the past two weeks:
- Nightmares and Dreamscapes – Stephen King. I bought this from my favourite used books store – Bearly Used Books in Parry Sound.
- The Road – Cormac McCarthy; The Quotable Chesterton – edited by George J. Marlin, Richard P. Rabatin, and Jon L. Swan; The Regiment – Farley Mowat. These three I picked up at a local thrift store for the grand total of $1.00!
- Circle of Fire and Breaking the Circle – both by S.M. Hall. These are books 1 and 2 of Hall’s Maya Brown Missions series. I won Breaking the Circle from LibraryThing Early Reviewers and it seems that the publishers threw in the first book as a bonus. The series is aimed at children 10+ and seems quite interesting.
- 15 Days of Prayer with Thomas Merton – Andre Gozier. I won an e-book from Amazon up to the value of $10.00 in a recent giveaway contest and made this book my choice. I’m enjoying it so far.
