Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teasers for this week:
I never got to assess what kind of impact my talk with Tommy had had, because it was the very next day the news broke. It was midway through the morning and we’d been in yet another Culture Briefing.
This is from page 110 of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. This is the second time I have tried to read this book. This time I am enjoying it more and am close to halfway through. It took me a while to work out what was going on in the background of this book. As you begin to read you realise that there is a larger underlying theme going on, but it is close to a third of the way through that the bigger picture starts to reveal itself more, although there are clues and hints along the way. I’ll hopefully be finished it soon, because it is a library book and is due back next week. It is also part of my Wishlist Challenge for 2012.
