FRIDAY FINDS… is where you share the book titles you discovered or heard about during the past week. These can be books you were told about, books you discovered while browsing blogs/bookstores online, or books that you actually purchased. This event is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
As usual MizB asks the question:
What great books did you hear about/discover this past week? Share with us your FRIDAY FINDS!
I was in Sudbury last week so I took the opportunity to visit a few bookstores, because that is something that is missing here in Elliot Lake. I saw a few books I would like, but I only picked up three in the end:
- The Catcher in the Rye – J.D. Salinger. I’ve never read this before, but it is part of one of my reading challenges for this year, so I’ll hopefully get to it soon.
- Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation – Tim Hamilton. This is a very good comic book adaptation of one of my favourite books.
- Introducing Camus – David Zane Marowitz and Alain Korkos. I’ve become quite fascinated by the life and works of Camus over the past year, so when I saw this I had to buy it.
I also picked up Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martel for $0.50 in a local thrift store last week. His Life of Pi is on one of my reading challenges for this year, so once I’ve read that I might give this one a try. It was a bargain at the price.
I also found out today that, if it’s your thing, three of Francis Chan’s books are available today and tomorrow for free e-book download. Click HERE for more details.
