Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here are my teasers for this week:
The female moved her triangular head, pivoting it slightly from left to right. Through his glass Stephen could see her sideways jaws open and close; then there was a blur of movements so rapid that for all his care and extreme attention he could not follow them, and the male’s head was off, clamped there, a detached lemon, under the crook of her green praying arms.
From page 259 of Master & Commander by Patrick O’Brian. I received this book for Christmas and would like to start reading it soon. It’s the first in a series of 20 and I hope to eventually get around to reading them all. I own the first three, so that’s a start. I really enjoyed the movie of the tenth book (The Far Side of the World), starring Russell Crowe, and had hoped it would be the start of a series, but, to my dismay, no more have followed.

Whoa! Sounds way better than the film. I didn’t much care for the film other than seeing Russell Crowe… lol
