Booking Through Thursday – Blogs (Feb 23)

It has been about a month since I did a BTT, so here I go again! Today Booking Through Thursday asks the following questions:

What do you look for when reading a book blog? Does the blogger have to read the same genre? Do you like reviews? Personal posts? Memes? Giveaways? What attracts you to a book blog? And–what are your favorite book blogs?

I’m pretty new to the book blog scene, but I really appreciate a number of the book blogs that are out there. What I look for in  a book blog is a combination of things. I’m not always looking for a particular genre as I’m always looking for something new or different to read. I like reviews as they sometimes give me an idea of whether the book in question is one that will interest me or not, but I also try not to be swayed too much by reviews. Personal posts are great as well and give an insight into who the blog owner is and what they like to read. I love taking part in a number of memes as it gives opportunity to find people with similar interests and tastes and I enjoy reading other people’s answers. Giveaways are fine, but not a factor in whether I like a blog or not. There’s nothing really in particular that attracts me to a book blog. I often just click links randomly to see what comes up.

One of my favourite book blogs is Should Be Reading. It is one of the first book blogs I came across and MizB, who runs the blog, hosts some great memes. Another one I like is Reading Challenge Addict because it opened up the world of online book challenges to me. These are just a couple of the many book blogs that I try to follow on a regular basis. It would be unfair to single out any more. I try to leave comments on the ones I visit and I appreciate the same when people visit mine.
